Kyushu, the third largest island of Japan, is an ideal place to grow a variety of different fruits year round due to its relatively warm weather. The Japanese believe in eating fruits as they are harvested so there are special fruit seasons throughout the year when specific fruits are popular. Surprisingly, even in the cooler months of the year, you can pick fruits. At farms which have “green houses” you can still pick delicious strawberries, even in December and January.
